Map of Wirral

From the North drive through the Wallasey Road Tunnel onto the M53.

or From the East and South Use the Motorway network leaving the M56 at Junction 15 to join the M53 heading North for Birkenhead.

Come off M53 at Junction 2 (signposted Hoylake and West Kirby) At the roundabout at the end of the Slip Road take last exit, sign posted Moreton and Hoylake A553. Turn left at the lights at the top of the hill. (You can only turn left at the traffic lights at the top of the short hill.)

Continue until you reach the ‘kidney shaped’ roundabout at which you take the first exit leading up the hill. Drive along this road until you reach Hoylake.

Some of the significant features you will see along your route include;

  • after the main shopping area a set of traffic lights at a cross roads by a garage which is on your right.
  • this is followed by fields on either side of the road.
  • this gives way to houses and, just after a sharp right-hand bend in the road, you will go over a hump backed railway bridge.
  • you will see a church on your right followed immediately by a pub called the Railway Inn.
  • another church comes up after a left-hand bend in the road. You are now about 1 mile from Hoylake.
  • the start of Hoylake is signalled by a petrol station on your left-hand side immediately followed by shops.
After entering Hoylake you will see pubs called The Blue Anchor on your left, The Punch Bowl on your right and, the same distance on, the Ship Inn on your left.

Marine House is half way between the Blue Anchor and Ship Inn pubs. You will see the flag poles and red ensign flying from over our Training Centre.
