Both of the MCA HELM courses are part of the qualification structure for many seafarers working towards MCA CoCs.

Our highly successful HELM courses run regularly throughout the year:

Human Element Leadership & Management at Operational Level (HELM O)

The HELM O course is a requirement for those wishing to obtain a Master (Code Vessels) <200gt CoC, an OOW (Yachts) <3000gt CoC, or a Small Vessel Engineering OOW CoC.

Human Element Leadership & Management at Management Level (HELM M)

The HELM M course is a requirement for those wishing to obtain a Chief Mate (Yachts) <3000gt CoC, a Master (Yachts) <500/3000gt CoC, or a Small Vessel Chief Engineer CoC.

(NOTE: Those wishing to obtain the Chief Mate CoC at the same time as their OOW CoC must undertake both the 3 day Operational course and the 5 day Management course)
