From the North drive through the Wallasey Road Tunnel onto the M53.

or From the East and South Use the Motorway network leaving the M56 at Junction 15 to join the M53 heading North for Birkenhead.

Continue until you reach the ‘kidney shaped’ roundabout at which you take the first exit leading up the hill. Drive along this road until you reach Hoylake.

Some of the significant features you will see along your route include;

  • after the main shopping area a set of traffic lights at a cross roads by a Tesco Express which is on your right.
  • this is followed by fields on either side of the road.
  • this gives way to houses and, just after a sharp right-hand bend in the road, you will go over a hump backed railway bridge, with Meols station on the brow of the hill.
  • you will see a church on your right followed immediately by a pub called the Railway Inn.
  • another church comes up after a left-hand bend in the road. You are now about 1 mile from Hoylake.
  • the start of Hoylake is signalled by a petrol station on your left-hand side immediately followed by shops.

After entering Hoylake you will see the Co-op supermarket on your left, followed by a pub called The Ship Inn, also on your left.

Marine House is half way between the Co-op and Ship Inn pub. You will see the flag poles and red ensign flying from over our training centre.

Accommodation

There are several B&Bs that we use in Hoylake, as well as private houses who rent rooms to our students. Prices range from £35 per night to £50 per night.
All of this information will be detailed in your joining instructions if you book a course, and we can make the booking on your behalf.

AirBnB: if you choose to book your own accommodation, please be aware that you will be required to do homework on most evenings during your course. Please ensure that the accommodation you book is equipped with an appropriate study area (either a desk in the room, or a dining table for your use). Please also check that the property is within a reasonable distance of the school.
Due to the nature of AirBnB we are unable to guarantee the quality of any private accommodation not booked through us.

Brexit

The UK has left the EU, and the transition period after Brexit comes to an end this year.
From 1 January 2021 you may need a visa to enter the UK, depending on your nationality or if you are an EU citizen. We advise you to check your visa requirements before you travel.
The gov.uk website has lots of information on this.
If it is clear that you do need a visa, please DO NOT apply for a ‘Student’ visa, as our courses do not meet the UK Border Agency’s criteria as a ‘course of study’.
We strongly advise you to speak to your local British Embassy to establish what type of visa you require. Visa refusals can be costly, so please check before you apply.
