“Course book well organised into specific topics. Good homework and mock exam questions. Peter’s vast knowledge!”

– Workboat Ops Student

A ten day course certificated by examination, covering the MCA syllabus for this module.

This course is part of the Master (Workboats) <500gt CoC, click here for further details of this CoC.

The aim of this course is to enable Masters to understand:

  • The special type of operations a workboat may undertake
  • Level of understanding necessary for the safe, secure and lawful operation of a commercially and privately operated workboat

Note: Because of the cross syllabus nature of this module and prior knowledge is assumed, it is recommended that the Stability (Master Yachts) and Seamanship & Meteorology (Master Yachts) modules are completed before attempting the ‘Workboat Operations (Master Workboats)’ training module and examination.

JPMA are proud to have been the first training provider to gain MCA accreditation to offer the Workboat Operations course, from our training centre in Hoylake, Wirral.
The world’s first course took place at JPMA in April 2016, and was a huge success. JPMA continues to offer this course, with outstanding pass rates on first attempt.

Course Fee £2,170.00 – includes lunch and morning/afternoon refreshments.
+ current IAMI exam fee of £175.00
