MCA Approved Engine Course 2 (AEC 2)

A 5 day course, with assessment on last day of the course, covering:

  • compression refrigeration plant;
  • legislative & management requirements within engineering operations;
  • on-board maintenance systems;
  • safe systems of work in an engineering environment;
  • lifting/slinging operations;
  • electrical distribution systems;
  • basic hydraulic systems;
  • undertaking basic maintenance;
  • fresh water systems;
  • sewage systems;

Note: Fault finding and rectification will be covered within each part of the syllabus as the individual topics are covered.

Pre-requisites – Candidates must be 18 years of age or over, and have previously completed the MCA AEC 1 course.

Current Course Fee: £1,045.00 – includes lunch and morning/afternoon refreshments.

AEC 1 & AEC2 are the initial courses required for entry onto the Small Vessel EOOW CoC route. JPMA also offer the AEC 1 course.
